In the European Area of Higher Education, Program Quality Assurance forms part of the Study Plans, aimed at creating a climate of confidence and trust in the Program.  At the same time, it ensures that students acquire the programmed knowledge and professional competences for each Degree Program.

UC3M was one of the first universities to understand the need to incorporate a system for monitoring quality.  Currently, it uses the Internal Quality Assurance System (Sistema de Garantía Interna de Calidad-SGIC- UC3M), whose design was certified by ANECA in 2009, in accordance with the AUDIT Program criteria and guidelines.
