    The Master's provides specialized, advanced training on legal advice in employment matters; particularly, right planning of labour relations within the legal framework, personnel management for legal and human resources departments, advice on labour disputes and alternative dispute resolution, representation and defence at the labour courts, consulting and defence in labour inspectorate proceedings.

    The quality education that the Program provides is guaranteed by a faculty made up of prestigious scholars and professionals in all the realms of the professional practice (judges, labour inspectors, lawyers, social security attorneys, occupational health and safety practitioners, human resources managers, heads of legal departments).

    All of our students do internships in law firms and companies. , in addition to Spanish. The goal is to achieve excellent education that increases employability in a high competitive and international market.

      The request is made electronically through our application. Before starting the admission process it is important to consult the supporting information that we offer below:

       

      Requirements

      The terms established by the Royal Decree 822/2021 of 28 September 2021.

      The preferred qualifications for admission to the Master's degree proposed are Law and Labour Relations. Therefore, any applicants with degrees in these disciplines would have preferential access. Furthermore, various subjects are offered in English (always as an option for the student).

       

      Admission criteria

      a) Students with a degree in Law or diploma or degree in labour relations.

      Professional experience and resume 2 points
      Qualifications obtained in essential subjects for studying the course 1 point

      b) Students with other degree (or equivalent).

      Language requirements

      Check the general language requirements required to study a Master’s at UC3M, depending on whether it is in Spanish, English or bilingual.

      students with foreign university degrees

      Once admitted to the Master’s program, students holding a university degree from a higher education institution outside the EHEA must provide the diploma, legalized through diplomatic procedures or by The Hague Apostille, for enrollment. They must also submit their transcript of records, including the grade point average, duly legalized.

    For the academic year 2025-2026 a call has been published for a maximum of 5 scholarships for payment of the net enrolment fees for students accepted into the Master’s, with the following provision:

    • 4 scholarships of €1,500
    • 1 scholarship of €3,000

    To apply, you must have completed the application for admission to the Master’s.

    Course 0

    Course 0 Introduction to Spanish and European Union Law  aims to provide foreign students of the different Official Masters of the Graduate School of Law with the necessary basis to face in the best conditions their specialized postgraduate studies at UC3M so that they can achieve an optimal use of them.

    The target audience of this Course will be those students who have obtained their academic degree in Law outside Spain, either in other European Union States or in third countries or in a discipline other than Law, either in Spain or abroad. These students must attend Course 0, unless they can prove that they have at least 3 years of prolonged professional legal experience in Spain. In any case, they must demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the basic institutions of Spanish and European Law through the evaluation test scheduled in Course 0. Once the exam has been passed, a certificate of attendance and completion of the course will be issued.

  • INTERNSHIP

    As part of the degree requirements of the master’s program, all students must complete an internship with a company, law firm, consultancy firm, public institution, etc. The goal is to allow students to increase their knowledge of the professional practice.

    The program’s internships consist of at least 160 hours of supervised work and 20 additional hours to prepare the Learning Assessment in which the student must explain how the internship has provided significant learning.

    Placements generally are with firms and institutions that cooperate with the master’s:

    Additionally, the internship requirement may also be fulfilled through placements assisted by the UC3M Career service and other cooperating institutions. Placements will take place in the framework of the different Agreements for Academic Cooperation that the program has signed. Placements will follow such criteria as the student’s preferences, his or her academic and professional résumé, and the availability of internships at the cooperating institutions and firms.

      STRUCTURE

      The syllabus for this Double Master's degree is structured around three teaching terms and a compulsory work placement for which students will obtain 70 ECTS corresponding to the Master in Legal Practice and Representation and 48 ECTS of the Master in Labor Legal Consulting.

      The 118 total credits on the dual syllabus are broken down as follows:

      • In the first term, compulsory subjects on the Labor Legal Consulting course corresponding to the main part of this degree (33 ECTS in total, in afternoon classes).
      • In the second term some compulsory subjects will be studied, completing the technical training in Legal Practices and Professional Activity of the Master in Legal Practice and Representation (25 ECTS in total in morning classes) and a second phase of the Labor Legal Consulting specialization (9 ECTS in total taught in the afternoons).
      • In the third and final term, one compulsory subject on the Legal Practice and Representation course corresponding to the main part of this degree (9 ECTS in morning classes), the guided external work placement designed for students to acquire the skills and abilities needed to exercise the profession of law, and the final dissertation for both master's degrees.

      32 of your ECTS credits will be recognized and at the end of the course you will have obtained two official Master's qualifications.

      Classes for the specialization Master's program begin in September and classes for the Master's program in Legal Practice and Representation begin in March.

      Important

      To be admitted to the Doble Master Degree you have to be admitted by the Academic Committee of the Master in Legal Practice and Representation. If your application for admission to the Double Master Degree is Not Accepted, you can still apply for admission to the Master in Labor Legal Consulting if you want.

      On the other hand, the admission to the Master in Labor Legal Consulting doesn’t imply the admission to the Master in Legal Practice and Representation.

      In any case, the resolution will be communicated to the applicant.

      Reservation fee will be paid once the student receives notification of admission to the master’s, and deducted from the first tuition payment​. The reservation fee will only be refunded if the master program is cancelled.

      2 Admission and registration on the double master's degree course will provide exemption from ECTS credits which will be validated according to the curriculum (see Program). Having obtained credits from both syllabuses, together with validation of 32 ECTS you will be able to obtain two official master's qualifications in little more than a year and a half. This exemption from payment of fees for validating ECTS credits shall only be applicable to students registered on the Dual Master's degree from the start.
