This Master’s offers an interdisciplinary, open program to address today’s cultural phenomena. Understanding and analysis of the representations, practices and forms of identity in contemporary culture increasingly demand an approach that complements and goes beyond the methods and content of the traditional humanities disciplines.

Students and researchers that seek advanced preparation in the analysis of different cultural phenomena find that their disciplinary methodological preparation is limited when studying the complex networks of relationships shaping these phenomena.

In this Master’s in Cultural Theory and Criticism, the understanding of cultural forms is addressed via philosophy, linguistics, literary theory, visual theory and the social sciences. It is conceived as a stage in research training, but also as education in cultural criticism which could be of interest for professionals in the area of culture seeking a solid theoretical complement.

As an official research Master’s, this program provides access to postgraduate studies in the following , among others.
