UC3M strengthens its commitment to effective equality between men and women with the approval of the Third Equality Plan

天美传媒 (UC3M) is commemoratingInternational Women's Day on the 8th of March with the approval of the . This plan aims to guarantee the fundamental right to equality for women who work and study at UC3M, enabling them to freely pursue their academic and professional careers. To contribute to this goal, the Vice-Rector's Office for Institutional Relations, Culture and Equality has organised and supported a programme of events and activities around the day (8M) in which the entire university community is invited to participate.

On Friday the 7th at 12:30 p.m., an institutional declaration will be made under the "Equality and Diversity UC3M" mural located in the María Moliner Library on the Getafe campus. On the same day, the 10th Pilar Azcárate Awards for final degree projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations on gender and equality between women and men will be presented. This event will be held in the Faculty Club on the Getafe campus at 12:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, purple lapel pins will be available to the university community until the 10th of March, and can be picked up at designated locations on all campuses.

On Monday the 17th, the Hipopotamas Rugby university association will hold a roundtable discussion on the challenges and progress concerning women's rugby in Spain. The event will take place in the Buero Vallejo Multimedia Room on the Getafe campus at 1:00 p.m.

The Colmenarejo campus is hosting the exhibition "Women and Work in Spain (1875-2015)", which can be visited until the 26th of March in the campus library.

The events conclude on the 27th of March with a discussion on"Equal pay and the glass ceiling: in reference to International Women's Day (March 8)", as part of the Permanent Seminar on Gender-Based Violence. The event will be held on the Madrid-Puerta de Toledo campus at 4:00 p.m. and can also be followed online. Prior registration is required to attend.

However, during the week of the 8th of March, activities and events took place, such as the 8M film series, the talk "Research with a gender perspective" in which researchers from different academic fields at the university participated;the seminar "The specialisation of the justice system in sexual violence: challenges and threats", the open interview with film director and writer Pilar Ruiz, and the play "Ada Byron: The Number Cruncher" about the British mathematician Ada Lovelace.
